To reduce the incidence of abuse and misuse of antimicrobials and investigational drugs amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Health issued a department memorandum which underscores the guidelines on the prudent and rational use of such medicines. 

This DC implored the assistance of all DOH-Centers for Health and Development (CHDs) and hospitals to inform, advise and encourage all concerned stakeholders to take collective and coordinated action to advocate for the rational use of these medicines in order to combat the emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections.
