The Department of Health – Pharmaceutical Division (PD) has been monitoring the management of essential medicines being downloaded to various health facilities through the National Drug Policy Compliance Officers (NDPCOs) and Public Health Pharmacists (PHPs). Their functions include mentoring the health professionals on good supply chain management practices, and ensuring that medicines are in good condition promoting the rational use of medicines, among other things. In order to further improve the implementation of the PD programs at the regional level, a PIR needs to be conducted to address all issues and gaps identified by the personnel in the field. The PIR will also be attended by representatives from Philhealth, DPCB and MTaPS.
