The Department of Health – Pharmaceutical Division through the Medical Device Unit is currently in the process of creating the Philippine Essential Medical Device List (PEMDL), set price reference index for DOH health facilities, and provide guidelines on the enforcement, implementation, and monitoring of the system across DOH End-User units as mandated in the AO 2021-0038 or the “Framework of the Philippine Essential Medical Device List and Price Reference Index”. To ensure a robust and comprehensive reference system for medical devices and supplies and to set guidelines on the selection of essential medical devices and supplies, a hybrid workshop is necessary to align and streamline the roles of different stakeholders (MDU, MDU-EAC, HTAD, HTAC, and FDA).
