2021 Progress Report on the implementation of the Cheaper Medicines Act

     DOH Pharmaceutical Division publishes the report on the progressive achievements in the implementation of the Cheaper Medicines Act.

 

   The Department of Health – Pharmaceutical Division (DOH-PD) publishes the 2021 progress report on the implementation of the Republic Act (RA) No. 9502, otherwise known as “The Universally Accessible Cheaper and Quality Medicines Act of 2008.” The report presents and showcases the progress of initiatives in improving access of Filipinos to affordable and quality medicines and health commodities. It also details the key accomplishments of the different health programs that are anchored on the key pillars of the access to medicines framework of the Philippine Medicines Policy (PMP).

 

    The 2021 Progress Report also highlights the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the pharmaceutical market as well as the government’s response and efforts to redesign the implementation of its programs and strategies taking advantage of online platforms in order to adapt to the new normal.     The progress report is submitted yearly to the Office of the President and the House of Representatives as one of the reportorial requirements set by the Congressional Oversight Committee on the Cheaper Medicines Act.
